Current status: Valid as Pangio muraeniformis (de Beaufort 1933). Cobitidae. Distribution: Malaya (Malaysia), Singapore. Habitat: freshwater.

Holotype (unique): CAS-SU 1812. Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:39 [ref. 12291]. Species author middle initial is a "L" •Valid as Acantopsis lachnostoma Rutter 1897 -- (Roberts 1989:99 [ref. 6439] as Acanthopsis). •Synonym of Acantopsis choirorhynchos (Bleeker 1854) -- (Ye in Pan et al. 1991:252 [ref. 23876] as Acanthopsis). •In Cobitis, as species inquirenda -- (Kottelat 2012:23 [ref. 32367], Boyd et al. 2017:183 [ref. 35656]). Current status: Uncertain as Cobitis lachnostoma (Rutter 1897). Cobitidae. Distribution: China. Habitat: freshwater.
